For many patients, pain is something they expect from a visit to the physical therapist. Patients need to understand that rehabilitation is not boot camp.
No pain, no gain - this is what you're supposed to experience while undergoing physical rehabilitation, right? The harder you work, the more pain you experience, the faster and stronger you'll be in the end?It's a phrase we all know, but is it true? Is all pain experienced during rehab good, and will it really make us better?Unfortunately, for many, the answer is no. This particular phrase does not apply to people as they go through the rehabilitation process, particularly those who have had a recent surgery or injury.
